George H. Johnson, 96, of Lexington, Kentucky, died Friday, August 17, 2012. He was born May 14, 1916 in Yale, Kentucky to the late James and Bertha Lawson Johnson. He served in the US Navy for 20 years and retired as chief petty officer. After the military he was trained as a piano tuner and spent 12 years tuning pianos for UK, EKU and Transylvania.

George is survived by his children, Betsy Johnson and Jim Johnson, both of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Amy and Anne Marie Drolet, Peter Shepard and Shannon Johnson; four great grandchildren, Abby and Emily Robinson and Madison and Cameron Shepard; and sister, Irene Hess.

Funeral Information

Memorial Service will be 6:00 pm, Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends till 8:30 pm.
