Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Daniel Davenport

Charles (Chuck) Daniel Davenport was born November 23, 1933 and departed this earth for Heaven Monday, December 31, 2018.
He graduated from Paintsville High School and attended Morehead State University. He was a veteran, serving the United States Army in Korea as a radio operator in the 304 signal corp. He pursued electronics throughout his career working for the Kentucky State Police as a radio technician, then for the Civil Defense. He owned Davenport Communications.
His love and appreciation of music was a lifetime passion playing multiple instruments. He enjoyed the CB radio era going by the handle of “The Old Technician.” He was always ready to assist in world emergencies with his ham radio license. He aspired through his studies of electronics and Morse code to acquire the highest license attainable. He made sure both his children knew the Morse code. He had the same drive to obtain his first class FCC license.
His lifetime of quick wit and humor served him until the very end, always making those around him laugh.
He leaves behind his wife, the angel that came into his life 48 years, Sharon; his daughter, Melissa Farmer; a son, C. Michael Davenport (Kimberly); his granddaughters, Ashley Peercy (Keith), and Chandler T. Davenport, who he referred to as funny face; his grandsons, Jacobe Farmer (Erica), and Chamberlin J. Davenport; his niece, Patricia Yeagar (Norm); and his great granddaughter, Reese Peercy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudie Davenport and his father, C.P. Davenport; his sister, Anna Easterling (Tom); and his brother, Paul Davenport.
He was a member of the Mayo Methodist Church in Paintsville, Kentucky.
Graveside Service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel. Pastor Andy Lawrence of The Point Community Church will be officiating. VFW Post 4075 will conduct military honors.
