Obituary for Betty June Addington

Betty June Addington, 74, of Pleasureville, KY, passed away August, 3rd, 2018 surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 10th, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at Thornton ORB Church in Whitesburg, KY.


Betty was born on March 15th, 1944 in Whitesburg to the late William (“Bill”) and Opal Polly Hall. Betty married her high school sweetheart, Charles Benjamin Addington, in 1961. They were married 57 years and had four children, Regina Kay who passed in 1966, Charles Jeffrey (wife Mary) of New Albany, IN, Philip Reed (wife Caroll) of St. Paul, VA, and Kristina Jo (husband Jeff Hennis) of Louisville, KY. Betty had five grandchildren, Charles Jeffrey II, Justin Kyle, Ethan Philip, Samantha Kay, and Nicholas James, and two step grandchildren, Patrick Wendell, and Jennifer Alane. She had two great grandchildren, Jordyn Christopher and Lydia Grace, and one step great grandson, Boston James.


She was preceded in death by siblings Claud L. Hall, Lena Hall, Lillian Hall Nease, and Loretta Hall Adams. She leaves siblings Billy Joe Hall (wife Fern) and Lora Hall Sexton.


Betty worked in the school system at Wright Elementary in Shelbyville, KY for over 20 years. She found great joy and pride in working and caring for the children. She was a very loving mother, with a fun, lively attitude, and infectious sense of humor. Throughout her life Betty loved cooking and caring for her family and friends, playing board games, making candy, and spending every day with her husband.
