Obituary of Janice Catherine Sutherland Osborne

Janice Catherine Sutherland Osborne, 81, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, due to complications from heart disease and dementia.  Janice was born December 26, 1942, to the late Charles P. and Christine Jones Sutherland in Henry County, Kentucky, and was married to the love of her life, the late Ira Osborne, for 20 years. She was a talented seamstress who created clothing items for many in Owen and surrounding counties. She took great pride in creating custom attire that ranged from simple dresses to wedding attire. After the passing of her beloved Ira, she was a Kentucky State Government employee until her retirement from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She attended Highland Christian Chruch in Frankfort until her health prevented her from doing so. 

Janice is survived by her children, Kay (Kevin) Cardwell of Frankfort and David (Susan) Osborne of Bethpage, Tennessee. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Shelby Cardwell, Jarod Osborne, Sidney (Chase) Barnett, and Jason Osborne; and three great-grandchildren, Lukas Ballard, Brantley Parsons, Easton Parsons, and one on the way.  

In addition to her husband, Ira Osborne and parents, Charles P. and Christine Jones Sutherland, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Sutherland. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00p until 8:00p on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort. There will be an additional Visitation from 9:30a until the time of Service at 10:30am on Thursday, March 28, 2024, with Pastor Ricky Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Owenton Cemetery, with Tom Tackett, Al Gomez, Chase Barnett, Jason Osborne and Kevin Trotta serving as Pallbearers.
