Obituary of Earl Joseph Buniff, Jr.

Earl Joseph Buniff, Jr. (Joe) passed away peacefully at home after a long illness​. He was born January 18, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

He is survived by his wife Mary, son David, granddaughter Brynn, sister Marilyn "Sister Mary Naomi" Buniff, Cincinnati, Ohio, and brother John Buniff, Frankfort, KY, plus a host of relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Earl and Margaret Oerther Buniff, he was preceded in death by his sister; Mary Pat Roberts, Louisville, KY. 

Joe went to the Good Shepherd School and graduated from Franklin County High School.  He completed courses at the University of Kentucky and Kentucky State University. Joe was a land surveyor for 24 years and worked as an exhibition installer for 10 years at the Kentucky Historical Society. He also did CAD work for both the Historical Society and Kentucky Finance Landscaping Department where he worked his last 10 years before retirement.

He spent most of his retirement time with family, friends, and pets. He lovingly adopted every animal his wife Mary rescued. Joe enjoyed 60s and 70s music, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching historical films. One of Joe's memorable adventures was attending Woodstock. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators or the Franklin County Humane Society. 

Services will be Good Shepherd Church at 12:00pm on May 10, 2024.
