The smile has passed, but the loving, giving, kind and accepting spirit of Doris Victor will continue on in the way her family and friends continue living. Doris deeply loved and was proud of her surviving family; her four daughters: Linda McWhorter (Dave), Nancy Victor (Jody Deem), Carol Hammond (late husband, Shannon), and Sandy Roach (Steve), her grandsons Ben McWhorter (Hillary) and AJ McWhorter, and her great grandson, Charlie McWhorter. She is also survived by a nephew Greg Long (Judi) and two nieces Diane Pankava (Mike) and Barb Stolz (Joe).
Her many friends and care givers (in her last brief illness) are so numerous that all cannot possibly be mentioned. Doris was hopeful that each of you knew she loved and appreciated your friendship and kindness.
Doris was born on April 16, 1934 in Chicago, IL. She was predeceased by her parents Lester and Effie Mussman, her sister Clare Niedermeyer (Bob) and her brother Lester, Jr. (Mary).
After 52 years of marriage, her husband MA (Bud) Victor passed away in 2006. It was at the time of his death that Doris moved to Wesley Village Retirement Community where she was the Marketing Director. Doris was a vibrant part of the community even after her retirement in 2010. She served as president of the Resident Council. She enjoyed being part of the Welcoming Committee and was famous for taking her delicious blueberry muffins to new residents. Doris was a wonderful hostess. She was always up for a card game, a party, a gathering of family or friends and a glass of wine. Doris requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Wesley Village, 1125 Lexington Road, Wilmore, Ky 40390.
A celebration of her life will be on Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Wesley Village Community Center at 2:00pm, followed by a gathering of her family and friends. A private scattering of her ashes will be held at Lexington Cemetery.
