Obituary of Peggy Jean Cook

Peggy Jean Cook, 64, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The daughter of Mary Elizabeth Harmon Cook and the late Paul Cook, Peggy was born May 5, 1959, in Taylorsville, Kentucky. Peggy graduated from Taylorsville High School, where she was honored to receive the Perfect Attendance Award. She loved fiercely and with her whole heart, “Be Kind” was her personal motto, and she lived by that daily. Peggy was always the first in line to help others and was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. An avid UK basketball fan, she loved to care for her flowers and be outdoors, taking great pride in her home. Spring and Summer were her favorite times of the year.  

In addition to her mother, Mary Elizabeth Harmon Cook, Peggy is survived by her sisters, Amy Cook of Shelbyville and Jennifer (Aaron) Seaton of Taylorsville; her brothers, Paul Anthony (Theresa) Cook of Westerville, Ohio and Danny (Dawn) Cox of Taylorsville; her aunt, Mary (Rudolph) Leathers of Bloomfield; uncle, Jack Harmon of Calvert City;  nieces, Courtney (Aric) Braune and Sophie Seaton; nephews, Patrick Cook, Andrew Cook, Daniel (Leah) Cox, and Aiken Seaton; as well as numbers cousins and extended family members.  

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00am, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, KY with Bro. Randy Nation officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, KY, with Patrick Cook, Andrew Cook, Daniel Cox, Aric Braune, Aiken Seaton, and Danny Cox serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to Trooper Island, KSP Headquarters, 919 Versailles Rd, Frankfort, KY 40601.
